Home About Us Meet Our Team

Welcome from the Headteacher

At Riseley Green School, children and young people are at the heart of everything we do. We are proud to provide a nurturing, inclusive and highly individualised environment where every pupil is valued, respected and supported to thrive. Our approach focuses on recognising strengths, understanding needs and providing the right support to help each young person achieve their full potential.

We believe every child is unique. Through a whole-child approach, we look beyond academic achievement to understand and support each pupil’s social, emotional, sensory, communication and physical needs. We celebrate progress in all its forms, recognising that success looks different for every individual. By creating a safe, supportive and encouraging environment, we help pupils develop confidence, resilience and a positive sense of self.

At Riseley Green, pupil voice is central to our ethos. We are committed to ensuring that every young person has meaningful opportunities to share their thoughts, feelings, preferences and needs in ways that are accessible and meaningful to them. Through a total communication approach, we provide a range of tools and strategies that enable pupils to express themselves confidently, participate fully in school life and have their voices heard.

As a neurodiversity-affirming school, we celebrate difference and embrace the individuality of every pupil. We support our young people to understand themselves, advocate for their needs and feel empowered to be their authentic selves. We believe that fostering a culture of acceptance, understanding and belonging is fundamental to helping our pupils flourish.

At Riseley Green, alongside academic learning, we place great importance on developing independence, confidence and essential life skills, preparing pupils for the next stages of education, adulthood and community life. Our range of learning pathways is designed to reflect individual strengths, interests and aspirations.

Our holistic approach is strengthened by our on-site clinical team, who work closely with staff, pupils and families. This collaborative partnership ensures that educational, therapeutic, sensory and emotional needs are considered together, enabling us to support each young person as a whole.

We are incredibly proud of our school community and the achievements of our pupils. Whether you are a prospective parent, carer or professional, we hope our website gives you a sense of the warmth, expertise and commitment that make Riseley Green such a special place to learn and grow.

We look forward to welcoming you to Riseley Green School.
